DIGIC 4 raw conversion turning fine detail into mush.

Below are 100% crops. JPEG straight from the camera, JPEG sharpened, DPP conversion. Taken with Sigma 15-30, second example with Sigma 50/1.4 at f/4.

The Raw's shadows are slightly brighter because Auto Lighting Optimizer was disabled in the converter but not in the camera.
JFIF compression is not the reason for the differences, the DPP version is still better saved as a low quality JPEG.

New: Added an even more obvious example. Apart from the general softness, additional detail is smeared or dropped under certain circumstances, see red circle and area to its right (this isn't dirt on your screen - some branches are interrupted near the top). Also note the church spire's missing peak.

Third example: the net around the columns disappears in the JPEG version.

This is totally different from the fairly good DIGIC 2/3 conversion.
